Awards

Overview

AACM recognizes academic excellence, emerging talent, and distinguished service in composite materials science and engineering through conference awards and related honors.

The AACM award framework was established in the early development of the Association and the ACCM conference series. These awards aim to encourage young researchers, recognize outstanding conference papers, and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the composite materials community.

Award Categories

AACM and ACCM awards historically include the following categories:

Young Researcher Awards

These awards are presented to young researchers, generally aged 40 and below, based on conference abstracts, research quality, and scientific evaluation.

Premier Paper Award

This award recognizes the best paper presented at the conference. The award is associated with the conference name, paper title, and contributing authors.

AACM Medal

This distinction is intended to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions and provided exceptional service in the field of composite materials within the Asian-Australasian community.

General Selection Principles

AACM awards are selected through scientific and committee-based review. Historical records indicate that nominations and selections may involve members of the International Advisory Committee, Scientific Committee, conference organizers, and AACM leadership.

In general, Young Researcher Awards are based on the quality of the candidate’s submitted work and academic evaluation. The Premier Paper Award is linked to the scientific quality of the paper presented at the conference. The AACM Medal recognizes broader academic contribution and service to the composite materials community.

Detailed procedures may vary from one ACCM conference cycle to another.
